Even though Americans are known for their generosity, if you ask them would they want to increase their taxes to give more benefits to immigrants, they’ll answer with a big NO.
This is indeed the rational answer. No one will give money to the ones whose purpose is to break our laws and make a mess in our country.
Unfortunately, giving funds to illegals is today’s biggest problem and that’s why we have such problems with illegal immigration.
The awareness on this issue raised now, when there are ongoing negotiations with the House and Senate on the tax bill. The White House is suggesting that, in order to claim the child tax credit, the children’s parents have to have valid SSNs. This decision will stop illegals from claiming the funds.
The Senate though, is looking the other way. They are somehow ignoring the House’s suggestion. This is happening because many Senate members are on Obama’s side instead of Trump’s. Could some of them be crooked?
“Evidence emerged Monday, as Republicans celebrated the Senate’s passage of the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, that small changes were made in the Senate to the bill’s language, which would allow illegal aliens to continue to claim the child tax credit.”
According to the existing law, illegals doesn’t need a SSN in order to claim the child tax credit, they only need an Individual Taxpayer Identification Number. Immigrants have ITIN so they will continue to claim the funds if this tax bill passes.
Congressman Luke Messer has a suggestion on how to resolve this problem.
“Rep. Luke Messer (R-IN) made sure that a fix to this long-standing discrepancy was included in the House version of the tax bill. When the bill came out of chairman Kevin Brady’s (R-TX) House Ways and Means Committee, it included the language Messer originally inserted, demanding a credit claimant include ‘the taxpayer’s Social Security number on the return of tax for such taxable year.’ This language would have blocked illegal aliens, who lack real SSNs, from claiming the lucrative benefit.”
When to tax bill was released from the Senate, the language of it was “corrected”. It didn’t said anything that the House suggested. According to this, illegals will continue to claim the credit.
“No credit shall be allowed under this section to a taxpayer with respect to any qualifying child unless the taxpayer includes the name and Social Security number of such qualifying child on the return of tax for the taxable year”
Many immigrants SSNs. This includes the U.S.-born children of illegals, and the ‘Dreamers,’ – immigrants who have SSNs thanks to Obama’s ‘Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals’ (DACA) executive amnesty scheme.
This problem wouldn’t exist if the country prevented the illegal immigrations and organized deportation when it firstly started. But the then government didn’t care for the mess that started to rise.
The Senate, or someone in the Senate, is making sure that the immigration problem doesn’t end. What we’re trying to find out is who is responsible for the changes that have been made in the tax bill.
The Republicans can’t wait to see what will happen.
We’re looking forward on restoring the original tax bill that Messer handed in the first place. It looks like the House is working on this problem and we’re hoping that the President won’t approve this new ‘old’ law.
