For quite a long time, conservatives have been cautioning Americans that liberals are coming to take their weapons. It’s at last happening.
In any case, I’m almost certain nobody anticipated that it would happen this way.
Certainty is, this specific weapon law is somewhat odd. It’s raising about as much wrath in the liberal group as it is in the conservative group.
Also, it’s going on in Hawaii, out of every other place on earth.
Since that is where you’re probably going to smoke medical weed. Also, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms is influencing one thing to clear: regardless of how legitimate, in case you’re high, you shouldn’t have guns.
The Daily Caller reports:
Hawaiian authorities have asked medical marijuana users to “voluntarily surrender” firearms due to their medicinal status. This may mark the first time a law enforcement entity has moved to confiscate guns from cannabis patients.
Marijuana users in Honolulu are expected to turn over all firearms and ammunition to the state within 30 days of receiving the notice, according to a letter signed by police chief Susan Ballard.
You may have seen that the state is asking cannabis clients to voluntarily surrender their firearms. There’s justifiable reason purpose behind that – the legitimate point of reference for this is new.
Individuals have sued the administration to keep their firearms while smoking therapeutic weed.
And keeping in mind that the legislature decided for the weapon reallocation, the claims influenced one thing to clear – individuals are capable and willing to fight over this.
That is the thing that happens when state and nearby laws and definitions aren’t in agreement.
The state’s first medical marijuana dispensary opened in August, but federal law prevents patients who ingest cannabis from owning a firearm. Marijuana is still categorized as a Schedule I drug by the government and is considered in the same league as ecstasy and heroin.
The feds think pot resembles heroin. The province of Hawaii believes it resembles liquor. What’s more, nobody takes your weapons since you drink brew.
This isn’t finished. There’s a long battle ahead of us.
