On Thursday, President Donald Trump spent part of his day honoring active duty members for Thanksgiving. While most were still sleeping on their day off, Trump woke up early and held a teleconference with “five branches of the military serving overseas,” according to CNN.
Trump told them, “We’re very, very proud of you. Everybody in this country is watching, and they are seeing positive reports for a change.”
What you are doing with ISIS is again being talked about — with armed forces, we’re really winning. We know how to win, but we have to let you win. You weren’t winning before. They were letting you play even. We want to let you win.

Later that day, President Trump and First Lady Melania Trump made a trip out to Coast Guard Station Lake Worth Inlet to feed meals to active duty members of the Coast Guard who were working on Thanksgiving.
According to the White House pool report, Trump stated:
“It is an honor to be here, I have to tell you. …
Incredible people. You’ve done an incredible job. And I love coming in here and doing this with you today. I think its — well, we have to keep you very well fed. This is good stuff. But it’s an honor. …
Now, should we leave the media here to do the questions? Or should we tell them to leave? You know what, it’s Thanksgiving, so let’s let the media stay. OK? …
Let’s go, fellas, come on. Let’s get up here. Let’s get up here.”
Today, @POTUS @realDonaldTrump and @FLOTUS Melania visit the @USCG at the Lake Worth Inlet Station, in Riviera Beach, Florida — to say THANK YOU on behalf of an entire nation.
