Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer and House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi decided at the last minute that they would cancel a meeting with Trump on tax reform after their feelings were hurt by a Tweet the president sent out earlier in the day.
“Meeting with “Chuck and Nancy” today about keeping government open and working. Problem is they want illegal immigrants flooding into our Country unchecked, are weak on Crime and want to substantially RAISE Taxes. I don’t see a deal!”
Shortly after Trump sent out this Tweet, Schumer and Pelosi canceled the meeting and cried foul on President Trump.
“Given that the president doesn’t see a deal between Democrats and the White House, we believe the best path forward is to continue negotiating with our Republican counterparts in Congress instead.”
President Trump responded with an awesome takedown that highlights just how immature these two are.
“Chuck Schumer and Nancy Pelosi did not show up for our meeting today. I’m not really that surprised. We have a lot of differences.”
Clearly Trump is willing to work with people that have differing opinions but the same can’t be said about Democrats in our government.
On Wednesday’s Fox & Friends, former house speaker Newt Gingrich sided with Trump and bashed Schumer and Pelosi for their immaturity. Gingirch said Trump was “smart in the way he set it up.” The move was a genius way to remind America that the whiny Democrats refuse to work with anyone but their own party.
“You know, the idea that they would give Trump this kind of an easy photo-op… he can sit there and say, ‘Well I’m trying to solve it, I wonder where they are.’”
