Certain people across this country have begun to think that their opinion is the only thing that matters. In fact, one elderly man who recently moved to Florida learned that the hard way after one whiny neighbor attacked him over what she spotted in his yard – and what it was will make your head spin.
Steve Horner and his wife recently moved to Lecanto, Florida, from South Carolina. As a result of their move, they needed to unpack. In order to do so, they put certain items away, including some items outdoors. However, after placing one particular item in their front yard, they would quickly learn that they offended someone in the neighborhood.
Apparently, the offended woman, who was later identified as Lucille Blanchard, was so bothered by what she had seen that she got Horner’s wife’s number and texted her. Of course, the couple wasn’t about to back down because one person complained, and they simply ignored her outburst. However, within twenty-four hours, things would escalate, and Blanchard would come pay them a visit all because of one ordinary item in their yard – the American flag.
“It’s an American flag, and I’ve always flew one,” said Horner, according to Fox 13. “We’re just minding our own business you know ‘take that God damn flag down just for one day’ I said I ain’t taking that flag down.”
Personally, I’d feel the same way.
The couple thought that Blanchard would simply let it go, but she didn’t. Instead, she came over to their home, walked into their yard, grabbed the flagpole and the flag, and threw it to the ground. The smug brat then began to walk off as if she had a right to do what she had done. Of course, Horner told her, “If you come over here again I’m going to call the law on you.” Sadly, that only enraged her more, and that’s when she got violent with him.
“I was holding on to it, and she was pulling my shirt, and I just turned loose of the flag and just let her take it,” he recalled, according to The American Mirror. During the altercation, Blanchard revealed her reasoning for the attack, alleging it was “Because her son and grandfather they both died.”
Of course, Horner didn’t back down and said, “The flag ain’t got nothing to do with it.”
Several social media users could only come up with one legitimate reason she acted the way she did — she’s just another entitled liberal.
Eventually, Citrus County deputies were called to the scene. As soon as they heard what had happened, they arrested Blanchard. She was then charged with not only stealing the flag but also felony battery, and Horner is also giving her his own dose of sweet justice – he’s going to continue proudly flying Old Glory. “No I’m not going to take it down, why in the hell should I take down,” he stated matter-of-factly.
If someone passes by a home and spots an innocent decoration that “offends” them, they need to grow up. First off, that’s not their home and those people don’t have to believe the same things as you. Just because it offends you doesn’t mean that it’s wrong. People are allowed to have their own opinions, plain and simple.
Secondly, this is the American flag we’re talking about, in this case. If you have a problem with Old Glory flying here in America, then perhaps it’s time for you to move somewhere else. That flag represents the sacrifices many brave men and women have made for us to be free today.
